VFR Terrain Docklands Patch

Visual Flight London users who also have VFR Photographic Scenery and VFR Terrain (yes, there are quite a few of you out there) may be particularly interested in the VFR Terrain London Docklands patch announced today as part of a general announcement on the availability of various VFR Terrain patches and announcements.

The London Docklands 'Real Water' patch adds 'real water' textures to the Isle of Dogs (including Canary Wharf) and Surrey Docks. For Visual Flight London users, this means that they can have real water in the dockland waters around Canary Wharf rather than the photographic textures previous seen in the photo scenery even with the real water textures enabled.

The same patch also improves the accuracy of the dock edges in the London City Airport area, and as a result the whole appearance of the VFR Terrain 'real water' is tidied up enormously in the vicinity of the airport.

London Autogen and more

Autogen tree and building scenery for London by Ray Sheppard. You will also need London Autogen Update (listed separately). These downloads are only relevant to users of VFR Photographic Scenery and can be obtained from the author's site:

VFR Addons Database addons

The VFR Addons Database which has been set up by a team of dedicated freeware developers meeting originally on the Visual Flight Forums with the aim of providing a central site for organising and distributing freeware add-on scenery designed to work with VFR Photographic Scenery and associated products such as VFR Terrain and Visual Flight London.

To find scenery for London in the VFR Addons Database:

1. Go to http://www.vfraddons.co.uk
2. Type London in the Location search box
3. Use the FIND IT! button to get a list of relevant files

The following files are particularly recommended for use with Visual Flight London, but you may find others of interest too:

• Thames Excludes Updates - A set of excludes for the Thames/London area which work well with Visual Flight London. This download should be useful to all Visual Flight London users regardless of whether or not they have VFR Photographic Scenery or VFR Terrain.

• VFR Default Objects - Realigns default FS2004 scenery objects to align with VFR Photographic Scenery/VFR Terrain/Visual Flight London. Check the read me for details of how to install with Visual Flight London.  This download is relevant to all users of Visual Flight London, though users without VFR Photographic Scenery or VFR Terrain may wish to only install the London bridges rather than all the files included.
