FAQ
What about Edinburgh, Glasgow and Prestwick?
Edinburgh, Glasgow and Prestwick airports aren't included in Scotflight Scenery because Iain Gallacher (one of Scotflight Scenery's designers) is continuing to support his excellent existing freeware sceneries for these airports, including making updates available to make them fully compatible with Scotflight Scenery.
Is Scotflight Scenery compatible with other types of scenery?
Yes. See below for details:
Terrain Mesh Scenery
Scotflight Scenery's designers have been working mainly with Lago Terramesh scenery. You are advised to check the Scotflight Scenery Forum to see what meshes are currently recommended as new terrain mesh sceneries are released fairly frequently. Complete compatibility of Scotflight Scenery with all terrain mesh sceneries cannot be guaranteed.
Landclass
Scotflight Scenery is compatible with add-on landclass sceneries, but as it contains its own landclass, it is recommended that you have the Scotflight scenery (or specifically the Scotflight Landclass scenery area) higher in Scenery Library.
Photographic Scenery
Carlisle Airport, included in Scotflight Scenery, is compatible with Visual Flight/Getmapping VFR Photographic Scenery Volume 4, Northern England & the Isle of Man.
Other than the Scottish border covered in VFR Photographic Scenery Volume 4, there is no other photographic scenery for Scotland currently available. Check the Visual Flight, www.visualflight.co.uk, for news of photographic scenery for Scotland.
Generic Textures
Scotflight Scenery has been developed using the default generic textures. It should be compatible with replacement generic textures such as Lennart Arvidsson's FS2002 Replacement Textures but this cannot be guaranteed.
How do I uninstall the Scotflight Scenery?
To uninstall Scotflight Scenery, you should use one of the following two methods. Do not simply delete the folders where the scenery is installed:
- Use Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs to remove Scotflight Scenery 2.1.
- Use the Start Menu to select Start, Programs, Scotflight, Scotland Scenery, Uninstall Scotland Scenery.
What does the uninstaller do?
The uninstaller does the following:
- Removes all files, menu entries and registry entries created during installation.
- Removes folders created during installation if they are empty after removal of installed files. The Scotflight\Scotland folder is removed in any case.
- Creates a backup copy of scenery.cfg prior to uninstallation. The backup file, ScotflightUninstallBackup1_scenery.cfg, can be found in your main FS2002 or FS2004folder.
